Rebecca is Alexander's mom and a cryptographer (and an aerobics instructor and ...). Her Ph.D. thesis work at Yale involved secret key exchange using a random deal of cards. Coincidentally, the science-fiction novel Cryptonomicon also involves a cryptosystem based on shuffled playing cards. All this is nicely captured in this image.
